Crochet Scarves
This is what I have been up to lately. Work, home, cook, clean, laundry, then repeat. I haven't been able to post much lately. My work at school has really stepped up. I come home and crash. Since the weather has gotten cooler I feel like making something useful. Theses scarves are real easy! The only stitches I use are chain and double crochet. The first one I made was for my daughter and she likes it. Yea! I'm so happy she likes something mom made. It's a thick chunky yarn and is very soft.
This scarf I made for a friend at work. She wanted me to make her something. She picked out the yarn and this is what I made. Very easy and soft. My daughter wants it for herself, so I guess I'll have to make her one too.
I really like this color. I didn't at first but now that it's finished I really like it. Both of these scarves are called "infinity". I connected it into a big circle and you wrap it around your neck twice.
Thanks for stopping by. Have a great week!

Crocheted Sock Monkey Hat
This is the latest crochet hat I have made and I'm so proud of it! I wanted to make a gift for a friend that was having her first baby. I thought I would make a little something but not sure what to make. Well one day I stumbled upon this idea. Cute hua! This was really a lot of fun to make. It worked up quite fast. It is made very similar to my other hats. I only changed up the color and added ear flaps. My friend who is having the baby is having a girl. Ha ha! I guess you could tell that by the color. I hope it fits but we won't know for another week or so. :) But if it is to small I can make her another one. I added a little crochet flower but didn't get a snap of it before I wrapped it up.
My daughter really likes it and wants one. Sorry Carmen, too small. Ha ha! Well if you can believe it, a couple of my friends want me to make some for their kids. I don't feel that experienced! Plus they offered to pay. Now I'm in a dilemma because I don't like to charge my friends. I have looked on several Etsy spots and they charge anywhere from $18 to $25. Why didn't I know how to do this when my own children were little? I remember...I had kids. ( no time!) Ha ha!
Have a great day!

Crochet hats I have been working quite a bit on my crochet lately. There's been a baby boon in my school so I'm making some gifts. I was trying to think of something that I could make. I personally love homemade gifts. I've found several patterns on line that are very easy. Alli crafts have some very cute patterns and they are free! You can find her patterns here. This pattern works up real fast. The entire hat is made using double crochet. The striped hat also uses single crochet. So easy even a cave man can do it! Ha ha! I've made 5 hats so far. My daughter was a little jealous so I'm making one for her too. Oh yes, I won't be forgetting my boys and my daughter-in-law. Now that the weather is slowly cooling off we can wear hats and scarves soon, I hope anyway. If you check out my Pinterest, you can see more crochet ideas. Theses are made from alpaca and is very soft. I've also made some pink ones but forgot to take a picture before I gave them away. Oops! Thanks for stopping by. Have a supper weekend!

Back to School
Ok, I hate to post this...but here it goes.
I'm back to school this week.
Wednesday staff is back and the little kidos start back on the 23rd.
I've had a really wonderful summer!
It has been so relaxing and I don't say that often enough.
I went to visit my family in Missouri and also attended
my nephew's wedding.
While on the road we visited several great places including Pilot Mountain. I posted about it here.
Truly a beautiful place!
I've tried out several new recipes and all have been yummy!
I have enjoyed all the new blogs I've found several super blog friends that share such wonderful ideas of theirs and their kids! (You know who you are!)
I have done some painting around the house. Finally finished the upstairs and garage doors thanks to my family. I've also done loads of cleaning and organizing. Still lots to do in that area!
I visited my son and his wife in DC, gone picnicking and played at the beach.
Crochet has really been occupying my time theses past few weeks! I've made loads of wash cloths, flowers, and 3 winter scarves. There were lots of starting and stopping so I could learn a new stitch.
I am now in the middle of a beautiful afghan.
But now that all has to come to a screeching halt!
As of Wednesday my focus will be all about school
and the kidos.
I must say I am looking forward to it maybe just a little.
I always like to make little treats for children. It's my way
of bribery. Ha ha!
I have found so many super ideas in blog land that I can use at or for school.
Like this from Work In Progress.
There are so many cute ideas!
I have found several other good ideas but I can't save them all.
Well....Maybe I can.
I've opened and account over at Pinterest. What a cool place.
You can save all sorts of photos you like that you've found on the web. Then when it's saved it has the link of where you found it. You save all your "pins" on these boards that you create. Real easy! I have ideas saved for home, school and food.
You should check it out. Just click on my link at the top of my page.
I will leave you all with a pic of my blanket project. Have a great week!

Making A Ripple Blanket
I'm so excited to share this with you all. I told you all earlier that I'm a little crochet obsessed right now.
I now find myself going to the store to replenish my yarn. I've even ordered from the web twice to get yarn.
First I found it very relaxing to sit a spell and relax and work my little hook. Now It is becoming more of a passion. I look for patterns all day. So much for cleaning the house. Hea, but that's what I have kids for, right?
Attic 24 has been a big inspiration for me. I love her use of such bright lovely colors.
I can't get enough.
Some of my daughters friends are starting to ask me to make a blanket for them.
Oh no, what am I into? Both my son and daughter give me there input as to what color to use next. Ha ha!
Let me get this little beauty finished first. I am moving right along I think. My blanket is a wide as my queen bed but doesn't hang over the edges. I all ready have other projects planned in my head. See ya all soon. Bye Bye. Peggy

More lovely crochet
I have been working a lot on my crochet lately. When I was looking around blog land I found so many beautiful projects. Wow! Crochet has really changed from what I remember. However, if I start to make a toilet paper holder please stop me! Ha ha!
What I am really crazy about is flowers!
Mostly Japanese flowers.
These are not Japanese Flowers though, just a simple little pattern I found.
I have been finding them every where. But finding a pattern was a bit difficult.
I became obsessed and stayed up late at night looking for a pattern.
Thanks goodness I'm not back to work yet.
Most of the blogs I have found are from over seas.
The British, Swedish and gals from Germany all use different sizing than USA.
I have found some beautiful Japanese flowers used to make shawls.
This beautiful creation came from Attic 24. This blog is filled with the most beautiful crochet!
Isn't this beautiful! Such lovely colors.
Some day I I would love to make this!
Have a wonderful day!

Crochet Baby Gifts
I haven't been a total lazy bum. If feels like I haven't posted in forever. I've been doing lots of crochet. It seems like when ever I find a new hobby I work it to death and them I'm tired of it.
There has been a small baby boom at my school lately. I guess there was something in the water. Ha ha! Well I found some cute ides in blog land. This is what I came up with.
This is a little purse or bag. It's just right for a little girl. It's real easy and fast to make. I found the idea on this wonderful blog called Dutch Girl Diary. Erin made theses for her daughter. You need to check her blog here for directions. I can make one in an evening while I watch TV. Remember I just started crocheting little over a month ago.
I saw this cute idea of making home made wash cloths. The yarn is 100% cotton and very soft. Aren't they cute. I thought it was a great gift for a new baby. I put the wash cloths inside the bag and cinched it together. I added a cute little poem I found and used some pretty scrapbook paper.
What a cute bag if I say so myself. Ha ha! Thanks for stopping by. Missed ya! I'm linking to: Skip To My Lou

Granny Squares!
Well once again I have been searching the web. So...my newest love is Crochet! I crocheted about 20 years ago.( OMG! Did I say that?) My mom taught me how to make afghans. So at that time I made several for my friends. That was about all I learned. My mom has made some beautiful things over the years. My favorites are her crochet doilies. Well, this started around Valentines day when I saw these cute crochet hearts. And the rest is history.
So now I'm hooked on granny squares! There are so many.
Check out some of these cool sites:
Theses people are super talented! There's tons of beauty and inspiration!
Don't you just love some of the colors!
I will take some pics of some of my starter pieces.
Yea! This is so much fun.
Oh and another thing... I"m starting a class or group of fellow crocheters. Ha ha! Can you believe it. I sent out an e-mail and got 5 responses within the first hour. I'll let ya all know how it goes.
Have a great day.
