Munch a bunch of bird nest!
I wanted to share a really yummy and easy recipe with you all. Ya know I have looked all over blog land and there are some good recipes to try out. However I must say, I still think that this is the best. Well I should say this is my favorite. They go together lickety split.
Don't they look yummy!
Combine in a bowl:
3 cups crispy rice cereal
1 cup shredded coconut
Mix and bring just to a boil while stirring:
1/3 cup light corn syrup
1/2 cup brown sugar
3/4 cup peanut butter
1 teaspoon vanilla
Remove from heat. Stir in the cereal and coconut. Let it cool, then shape into nest using your fingers.
Fill with jell beans. This should make about 12 or so. You don't want them to big.
That's is! I told you it was easy.
I bags a few and tied with twine for some friends.
I first made this for my oldest son's class when he was in pre-school.
That was twenty years ago. (Oops! I'm really not that old.)
All my kids still like it. I made some last weekend and they were gone in two days!
I hope you enjoy the treat!

I just love the colors all together. I'm using the rust color as an accent.

This will eventually will be a blanket. Not sure how many I need all together. I will just play it by ear and see how big I want it to be. Doesn't it look springy and happy. It's chasing the winter blues away!

Thanks for stopping by. Gotta go...where's my hook?

Granny Squares!
Well once again I have been searching the web. So...my newest love is Crochet! I crocheted about 20 years ago.( OMG! Did I say that?) My mom taught me how to make afghans. So at that time I made several for my friends. That was about all I learned. My mom has made some beautiful things over the years. My favorites are her crochet doilies. Well, this started around Valentines day when I saw these cute crochet hearts. And the rest is history.
So now I'm hooked on granny squares! There are so many.
Check out some of these cool sites:
Theses people are super talented! There's tons of beauty and inspiration!
Don't you just love some of the colors!
I will take some pics of some of my starter pieces.
Yea! This is so much fun.
Oh and another thing... I"m starting a class or group of fellow crocheters. Ha ha! Can you believe it. I sent out an e-mail and got 5 responses within the first hour. I'll let ya all know how it goes.
Have a great day.
