Green Smoothie
Ok folks, here goes.
I've tried my first green smoothie.
This came from The Mediterranean Diet
Actually this is from Dr. Oz. If he says it's good or good for you, then it must be true. I mean, if you can't trust Dr. Oz then who can you trust!
And no one ever said it would taste good. Sort of like, "no pain no gain".
Ingredients:
spinach celery fresh ginger apples cucumbers parsley lime and lemon juice.
Oh my gosh! This is really bad!!!
I think part of the problem is that I really don't like celery. I like celery in a salad, but just a little. Also I've had cooked celery in soups and lots of other dishes.
Spinach isn't so bad. I eat it quite often in salads. Cucumber is ok too.
I know, I know, it's healthy.
Yum!
I guess it's a personal thing.
Maybe you all should check it out and let me know what you think. Also let me know if anyone of you guys have a suggestion or any good healthy recipe.
Thanks for stopping by.

ok, so the combination sounds odd, but the health benefits are awesome and that's a big yay! However...I have not had a green smoothie yet, but I want to try one. Yesterday I bought a lot of fresh fruits and veggies. I'm going to cut out dairy and bread and eat less meat. I don't feel that well these days and I know I need to make some changes. I think Christmas cookies and lots of coffee have put me in a sugar and caffeine slump!!

I think that it will be a perfect drink for St. Patricks day. .and if you put a little beer in it, it may be alright. .or maybe you could add some vodka and call it a "Moldy Mary." HAHAHAHAHA! At any rate. .I'm not sure I would be too eager to try this one out. .Hope you don't have to drink them for long either ;-)

Ok. So maybe the list of ingredients make your stomach growl in fear, but just as Bonnie above said, this concerns health benefits and I know the smoothie would do heaven to your body! So, drink up :)P

Did you check out my green smoothie recipe? It is really yummy. I don't know if I could handle celery in a smoothie either.

A few weeks ago the daughter and I watched the movie "Fat, sick & Nearly Dead." If you haven't watched it, it is about a man that lost a ton of weight and got healthy from juicing. He actually had a green juice that he called "Mean Green."

Every since then I have been interested and curious. I have priced juicers at Walmart and wowzers, they are expensive. I am hesitate to buy one because I don't know if it is something I would really do.... I am still curious though. ") I am a little behind and catching up on all the blogs I read... are you still juicing?
