I made Whoppie Pies!
One day last week my daughter and I were out shopping at Wal-Mart. She had meet me there to pick up some groceries. I drive past Wal-Mart everyday to and from work. No big deal.
We both spied a pan with heart shapes like a cupcake pan. How cute we both say. But what to do with it. I mean I can't just buy a baking pan because it's cute. Well, to our surprise there was a recipe on the back.
Whoopie Pies, cute little heart shaped Whoppie Pies.
Well that is how it started.
None of us here knew what a Whoppie Pie was. Still, the picture was so tempting!
I did Google it and found out that this is a New England and Pennsylvania Amish Tradition. Well not any more!
With Valentines Day approaching I decided that today was the day.
My daughter wanted to help me but you know how teenagers are. Thirty minutes before I started she was out the door.
Ok! Diving into the unknown!

This was an easy recipe. Just a little different from regular cookies. Remember, this is a pie!

Oh, and I didn't use the pan that started all of this. Ha ha silly me. :)

Doesn't this look yummy! The filling is butter, powdered sugar, vanilla and

fluff ( Marshmellow cream).

Oh my goodness! Pause the movie! Stop the music! Pick me up off the floor!

I have never ever had anything like this before! I do feel that I'm some what qualified in the kitchen. But... This is to die for! I feel like I have been sheltered my whole life. Like my eyes have been opened for the first time!

It's like and homemade Hostess Ding Dong.

Well I really should be getting back to my chocolate sugar fix. Hope I don't go into a sugar coma. Ha ha!

Thanks for stopping by.

Oh yummy! Well, of course I have had whoopie pies...but I really didn't know it was a Pennsylvania thing (and New England). I thought everyone knew about them. It's so cool that you found a new treat that you love! I love that! I have never made these, but my mom made them when we were little. I have actually wanted to make these for some time now.

Bonnie, you have to make some. Just out of this world. And I'm sure there aren't many calories in them. Ha ha!
