Spring Tripping
Now that the weather is nice I thought it was high time I got out and about. My first trip was to New Bern.
I have been there several times before but there is always more to uncover. Oh my goodness the flowers were just beautiful!
Oh... by the way New Bern is the birth place of Pepsi Cola. It was called Brad's drink.
It is a very old colonial town. It was founded in 1710 by a man from Switzerland. That is where the name came from, Bern, Switzerland.
The Tryon Palace was the first governors home in North Carolina. Is has been beautifully restored and has beautiful grounds. They have a lovely candle light tour and Christmas time. I posted some pictures of the gardens last summer when I was there with my sister.
This building was built in 1792.
This is St Paul's church built in 1841.
There are lots of alleys ways here. I even ran into a small band playing for a donation in on alley. I'm sorry I didn't get a photo. There's a ghost walk advertised. I think I will have to check that out soon.
So much to see so little time!
Thanks for stopping by. Sorry I have been away for so long.

Looks like a lovely place to visit!!
What a quaint town. I like little towns like that. It's cool that you got to see flowers in bloom...that seems so foreign to me!
outta all the time we were there, I never went to see the "birth place" of Pepsi
HEY... next time in New Bern.. ACCIDENTAL ARTIST... is a pottery painting place. They have the Bisques (the premade pottery) you just paint it let them fire it and then pick it up or they will ship to you :)) I love going up there. :)
