Fall Leaves
A couple of days ago I was leaving my house for work. I looked over my shoulder as I was backing out of the driveway. My Japanese Maple looked like it was on fire! Oh my goodness! The sun was coming up and hit the tree just right. So I hopped out of the car to snap a few pics. Buy the time I got back into the car the light had all ready changed.
I have been a little envious of some of the fall pictures you all post. Here in eastern North Carolina we have mostly pine trees. You have to drive to the mountains to see really pretty fall foliage. So I couldn't wait to share with you.

Also you need to see the cool tepee my class made Friday. We have been studying Indians for a few days. What do ya think?

The end.

Sausage Breakfast Muffins
Here is a little treat I made for the kids. When the kids were babies I would aways make something special for them on Sunday mornings. Well, as they got older and our lives got crazy, breakfast became quick and easy. Kids are now old enough to fix something for themselves. A friend of mine fixed something similar to this. So I tweaked it a little and came up with this I thought my children and their friends would like
I lined the cups with refrigerator crescent rolls.
Sharp cheddar cheese next.
Then I added crumbled cooked sausage.
Next I added eggs, beaten (one per cup) with a splash of milk and salt and pepper. Then topped with a bit more cheese.
I baked it for about 12 minutes in a 375 degree oven.
They look a little messy in the pan. I'm wondering if I should use paper liners next time.

Yummy yummy in my tummy hip hip hip horray!

They were so good. The kids all approved. Ha ha!

Owls Yesterday my second graders had a special day. We had a person come to our classroom with three owls. Two of them were Screech owls and the other was a Barred owl. This was my first chance ever to see an owl or raptor up close. How awesome is that! We have been studying them for the past few days. I didn't know it was illegal to own or capture owls of any kind. They are Federally protected. The kids were so excited and well behaved.
I thought it was super cool. I Just had to share this with you. Thanks for stopping by. Have a great weekend

Yummy Popcorn balls!
Today I had the day off. I helped a friend out today and babysat her three adorable kids. I have almost forgotten how much you have to keep your eyes on them every moment. They were so easy to take care of, but then again I was only there for a couple of hours. The two year old fell asleep on my lap. Goodness that is a wonderful feeling of having a little one trust you enough to fall asleep next to you. Taking care of big kids, that's another story. No more falling asleep on mama's lap. They give you mental stress! But at the end of the day, they are still my little babies.
My kids still like to play in the kitchen with mama. So..we decided to have some good ol'e family time.
They still like to get their fingers messy and eat out of the bowl.

Guess what I'm taking to school tomorrow!

I'm not sure what children have to do with popcorn balls but that is how my mind works.

Scary Hua!?

Pumpkin Muffins With Cream Cheese Centers
I found a super recipe in blog land a few days ago. Well...if ya know me, I had to try it. Anything made with pumpkin is calling my name.
I need to bring something to a wedding shower tomorrow. So how perfect is this. Check out this site: yourcupofcake.com/ Oh my goodness! I can't tell you in mere words how beautiful her muffins are.

This muffin is so moist and delicious. Then when you bite into that little surprise, wow! My daughter said that this is her new favorite recipe.

This recipe made a little over two dozen. Very easy and fun to make!

Stay Away From Drugs!
Every year at our school we have Red Ribbon Week in October.
This is a week long activity to raise awareness in our schools to be drug free. We start out the week with Crazy Hat Day. All the children get to wear any hat of their choosing. The slogan is: Put a Cap on Drugs and be Drug Free. Then we have Twin Day, Sports day and we end with Pajama Day! Each classroom makes a poster that is to be judged. I had to share some with you.
This is from a kindergarten class.
This one is from a second grade class.
Another second grade class.

Second grade again. Oh yea! My second grade class. This was just a few. After all we have six kindergarten classes, six first grade classes, six second grade classes, and so on. We haven't been told who the winner is yet. Just some friendly competition. Have a great day! Remember to stay away from drugs!
